Du-All Hosts “Drop in and Draw” Sessions for CPSA Detroit

Du-All hosts weekly drawing sessions for the Detroit chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA), providing members with a space to come together and create. Diane Radtke, the President of the organization, is also an accomplished artist and an art instructor who teaches colored pencil workshops and drawing classes at Du-All.

Madison Heights, MI, July 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Du-All Drafting & Art Supply is proud to provide a space for members of the Detroit chapter of the Colored Pencil Society of America to come together and create. In addition to their bi-monthly meetings, CPSA Detroit members can participate in “Drop in and Draw” sessions at Du-All’s Madison Heights store every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sessions are led by the chapter’s current President, Diane Radtke, who describes them as an opportunity for members to work on projects and socialize.

In addition to being an accomplished artist featured in many local and national exhibits, Ms. Radtke also teaches drawing and colored pencil classes and workshops at Du-All. The artist, who has been intrigued by all forms of art since grade school, gained teaching experience during her four years with Utica Community School Community Education. By reading art magazines and books and attending workshops and seminars offered through the CPSA and other artist organizations, she stays on top of the latest techniques and products in the art world. “The world around me inspires me – persons, places, animals, gardens – everything and anything can be an inspiration at any given time,” says Ms. Radtke of her creative motivations.

The Detroit chapter of CPSA is one of 27 U.S. chapters of the international organization, which was established in 1990. For its members, CPSA is a point of exchange with other colored pencil artists. The organization helps members staying informed about upcoming events and new techniques, facilitates exhibit entry and offers access to locally and nationally recognized artists.
