Wave Energy Drink Supports the Troops—and Two of Their Own

Donations Given, Employees Honored

Charlotte, NC, July 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The 4th of July is right around the corner with numerous celebrations of America’s Independence on tap. Wave Energy Drink found this to be the perfect time to honor our troops overseas, while celebrating the military accomplishments of two individuals on their own staff.

Wave made a donation of multiple cases of product to the North Carolina National Guard (of Clinton, NC) currently stationed in the Operation Iraqi Freedom Theatre. The beverages were part of a much larger contribution which was put together by Sergeant Major Rick Dunlap, 4th Brigade ROTC Cadet Command, out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Sgt. Dunlap feels that there is no better way to raise morale among the troops than to give them a taste of home. “Every little bit counts,” he said. “It lets these men in the field know that there are so many people back here in the States that are supportive of what they’re doing on a daily basis, defending our freedom and serving their country with honor,” he added.

And while Wave Energy Drink was elated to be a part of Sgt. Dunlap’s overall contribution, they themselves have two employees on staff with extensive military backgrounds, as well. Greg Hart and Stephen Britt both work for the company—Hart in regional North Carolina sales and Britt is a franchise owner in South Carolina.

Gregory D. Hart was a five-year Army veteran of the 64th Brigade Support Battalion, out of Fort Carson, Colorado. He served in the 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division and his Military Occupational Specialty was PSD, Personal Security Detachment. Hart served three and a half years in the Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign, where he was ultimately awarded with three Army Commendation Medals and a Bronze Star for Valor.

Stephen M. Britt served in the United States Marine Corp, attached to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine, 2nd Division out of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He served in the Echo Company and his Military Occupational Specialty was that of Infantry Assault. Britt served a total of four years and endured four overseas deployments including two tours of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom and one tour in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He was awarded with 10 combat awards and commendations throughout his service.
