Employers Paid to Hire Apprentices? MEGT Group Training Pays Employers to Boost Apprenticeships in Skills Shortages Industries.

Until November 2010 MEGT Group Training will pass on the $3,350 Kickstart Bonus to all Australian employers – of any sized business – if they employ an apprentice aged 19 years or under, in a skills needs occupation*.

Melbourne, Australia, July 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Apprentice Kickstart program, introduced by the Rudd government last summer, was so successful in providing a boost to starting apprenticeships in traditional trades that it has been reintroduced. However it is only available to small to medium sized employers.

“We believe the larger employers should also benefit,” explains Natalie Reynolds, national manager for MEGT Group Training. “So we are passing on this government initiative to all our eligible host employers, regardless of size. We feel passionately that it is an investment in the future for Australian industry.”

Until November 2010 MEGT Group Training will pass on the $3,350 Kickstart Bonus to all Australian employers – of any sized business – if they employ an apprentice aged 19 years or under, in a skills needs occupation*.

“Industry generally embraced the initiative because of the ongoing skills shortages,” continues Ms Reynolds. “There has never been a better time for those who are 19 years or under to start their career in a traditional trade. The apprenticeship will give them a nationally recognised qualification as well as valuable workplace experience and their employer won’t miss out on the Kickstart Bonus.”
