American Collectors Insurance and Hemmings Motor News Join in Celebration

Industry leaders and enthusiasts recognize “Collector Car Appreciation Day”

Cherry Hill, NJ, July 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The United States Senate declared July 9, 2010 as National Collector Car Appreciation Day as a means to raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society. Leaders in the restoration and collector car industries, American Collectors Insurance and Hemmings Motor News are partnering to celebrate this historic day.

With plans for food, music, giveaways and – of course – classic cars, American Collectors Insurance and Hemmings invited enthusiasts from the South Jersey area to join them at American Collectors’ headquarters in Cherry Hill, NJ on July 9 from 4 PM-7 PM for a night of celebration and fun. Their lot will be overflowing, as 100 collector car owners have already reserved their spots to show off their automobiles.

“Our joint event with Hemmings should be a really fun experience,” says Laura Bergan, Vice President of Marketing for American Collectors Insurance. “We have been working with them for three decades and no one lives and breathes the collector car hobby like our two organizations do.”

Bergan is chair of ARMO, the Automotive Restoration Market Organization, a Specialty Equipment Market Association council dedicated to the restoration industry. It was SEMA that requested the Senate resolution recognizing Collector Car Appreciation Day. “It is so exciting that collector cars are being acknowledged for the important role they have played in the United States’ heritage. It was wonderful to be a part of the process to have this day established.”

The American Collectors Insurance and Hemmings Motor News’ event is just one of hundreds of car events taking place on or around July 9, the official date designated as Collector Car Appreciation Day. SEMA has developed a list of events happening nationwide and posted it on their website.
