Dr. Leigh-Davis is Written-in at American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (A.F.T.R.A.) Elections

Dr. Leigh-Davis may consider an A.F.T.R.A. Board of Directors position; however she is more interested in the U.S. Congress.

Beverly Hills, CA, July 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Many know, when Dr. Leigh-Davis is not working as a law professor, she is a prominent legal analyst and legal commentator, appearing on many news television shows. Accordingly, due to her many TV appearances, Dr. Leigh-Davis has long been a member of A.F.T.R.A. (The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists union.)

Although, her activity at A.F.T.R.A. has been limited, Dr. Leigh-Davis was quite surprised to find many write-in votes for her, in the recent A.F.T.R.A. Los Angeles Board of Directors elections. Election results can be found on the A.F.T.R.A. Los Angeles Local website. “It is something I might consider in the future. However, I am much more interested in being a U.S. Congresswoman,” said Dr. Leigh-Davis after hearing the election results.

Recently, A.F.T.R.A. has been receiving a lot of attention, because of all the new policies and guidelines being voted on. It is well known, the internet has changed the way one watches movies and television, and listens to the radio. Not surprisingly, this has led to many new contractual issues for performers and broadcasters, and therefore, unions like SAG and A.F.T.R.A. have been actively implementing new guidelines. Currently, joint American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (A.F.T.R.A.) and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Wages & Working Conditions meetings have been scheduled in preparation for negotiation of the A.F.T.R.A. Exhibit A and SAG TV/Theatrical contract that expires on June 30, 2011.
