Chattanooga's Cherish Studio

Cherish Studio offering low and no cost hair cutting services to local Chattanooga women, while seeking employment.

Chattanooga, TN, July 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Chante Newcomb, owner of Ego Salon & Studio in Chattanooga, TN, began volunteering her services as a stylist a few months ago. She started by collecting hair products to donate to local women’s shelters, and later participated as lead “shaver” in a St. Baldrick’s event raising money for pediatric cancer research. Yet, she still saw a huge need.

For women, getting their hair styled can be a huge confidence-booster, but it can also be quite expensive. Single mothers in difficult financial circumstances don’t usually have the spare money to get a new style.

A stylish cut could give a struggling woman the poise and assurance she needs to perform well in a job interview. With the recent economic upheaval, there are many women who need just such a helping hand as they search for work.

On the first Monday of each month, beginning on August 2, Ms. Newcomb’s “Cherish Studio” plans to offer low-cost or free hair-cutting and styling services to women seeking work in the Chattanooga area. The cost of the styling will be on a sliding scale and take place at the Ego Salon & Studio, located on Highway 58. If you would be interested in contributing to this worthy cause or learning more about the service, Ms. Newcomb can be contacted:
