Public Affairs Pro Lauds Benefits of Website over Traditional Resume

Washington, DC, July 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Facing the worst economic job market since the great depression, job seekers are looking for new ways for self promotion. Colorado State University graduate John Worthington is one of many who has launched a new website, www.worthingtonjohn.com, in order to attract prospective employers.

In college, Worthington lead successful political advocacy campaigns, leading a statewide grassroots effort that attracted thousands of students across Colorado. Since graduation, however, Worthington has found it extremely difficult to get noticed by employers.

In an effort to set him apart, Worthington launched a career website that includes a portfolio of his work and his resume. “Employers are looking online and you need to be there for them to find,” Worthington said.

Worthington is attempting to move to Washington, D.C. and has directed his website, www.worthingtonjohn.com, to highlight his political expierence. “My education is in strategic communication,” Worthington said, “so it made sense to use my education to better communicate myself.”
