A variety of activities will be taking place throughout Cairns during its annual festival.

Now in its 49th year, the event kicks off on August 20th 2010 and boasts a bill which is packed full of fascinating cultural performances, art and music.

To herald in this year's show, guests at Cairns accommodation can get themselves down to the city's Tanks Arts Centre, where works from a range of big-name and lesser known Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists will be available to browse and purchase.

A series of free talks, workshops, dance performances and activities for all the family will also be held at the centre until August 22nd.
