Wockhardt Foundation Achieves Another Milestone - Over 200 Cleft Surgeries in Association with Smile Train

Wockhardt Foundation, in collaboration with Smile train has successfully completed over 200 surgeries.

Mumbai, India, July 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Wockhardt Foundation in collaboration with Smile Train has successfully operated over 200 children born with cleft deformity, under its programme Smile Please. This tie –up has benefited all those children belonging to the economically weaker sections of the society.

Children born with cleft deformity are often subjected to isolation & mental anguish, due to rejection from society. It brings along with a host of problems like, regurgitation of food and liquids through the nose, poor speech, dental and orthodontic problems, upper respiratory tract infections.

However it can be surgically corrected, which brings in a new ray of hope & a bright new smile on the child’s face, thereby giving him or her a new lease of life.
