Luskin & Mayor to Give Workshop: "Marketing Outside the Mainstream"

Vermont authors Deborah Lee Luskin and Archer Mayor will be teaming up to give a workshop on marketing fiction outside the mainstream publishing industry at 11 AM on Sunday, July 25 at the “Timeless Craft, Timely Skills” Conference in Dover, Vermont.

Dover, VT, July 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Luskin is author of the new novel, Into the Wilderness, and Mayor is author of more than twenty Joe Gunther Mysteries. Both Luskin and Mayor set their fiction in southeastern Vermont, and both authors have blazed paths to publication outside traditional, old-school publishing.

Into the Wilderness, published by White River Press in February, 2010, uses Print-on-Demand technology. While White River absorbs all the costs of publication, Luskin has been responsible for 100% of the marketing costs and effort. Mayor’s novels have all been published in hardcover by mainstream houses, but Mayor has kept his books in print by establishing AM Press and reissuing the entire series in paperback. Luskin and Mayor will explain their strategies for successfully bringing their books and audiences together using both traditional and guerilla marketing techniques.

Both these authors, who reside in the town of Newfane, are entertaining public speakers, and this workshop promises to be fun and informative.

“Timeless Craft, Timely Skills” is presented by The League of Vermont Writers and will take place at The Grand Summit Hotel at Mount Snow. The conference runs from Friday, July 23 through Sunday, July 25; single-day registration is available. Learn more at the League of Vermont Writers website.
