Harrington College of Design Department Chair Crandon Gustafson Appointed to IIDA Illinois Chapter Board of Directors

Crandon Gustafson was appointed vice president of student affairs to the board of directors for the Illinois chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).

Chicago, IL, December 19, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Crandon Gustafson was appointed vice president of student affairs to the board of directors for the Illinois chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA).

Gustafson serves as chair of the Interior Design Program for Harrington College of Design where he is charged with faculty development, curriculum and new program development. He has over twenty years of professional practice experience; much of it focused on the design of educational facilities.

The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) is a professional networking and educational association of more than 10,000 members in 8 specialty Forums, 9 Regions, and more than 30 chapters around the world committed to enhancing the quality of life through excellence in interior design and advancing the interior design profession through knowledge. Professional members of IIDA must pass rigorous acceptance standards: they require a combination of accredited design education and/or full-time work experience and passage of a 2 day accreditation examination given by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ).

With over 600 members locally, the IIDA Illinois Chapter is a regional resource with three functional City Centers operating (Chicago, Central Illinois and Northern Illinois) for knowledge sharing, advocacy of interior designers’ right-to-practice, professional education, and expansion of interior design markets.

Gustafson received a Master of Architecture Degree from the University of Colorado – Denver, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Sciences from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay. He is a registered architect, a LEED Accredited Professional, and a member of AIA, IDEC, ASID and IIDA.
