Cincinnati Women’s Publication Raises Funds for Local Charities

Cincy Chic announces donation from Red, Pink and Blue Event.

Cincinnati, OH, August 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Fashion hungry fans came out to support a good cause and find relief at Cincy Chic’s annual event, Red, Pink and Blue. Cincy Chic, the only online lifestyle publication for women in Greater Cincinnati (www.cincychic.com), teamed up with Locals on Living, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, the American Heart Association, Pink Ribbon Girls and the American Diabetes Association to raise $4,100.85 for heart health, breast health, and diabetes health awareness.

Red, Pink and Blue, an event concept that was recognized by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber with a WE Celebrate award, was held on Friday, June 25, 2010. St. Elizabeth Healthcare provided a mammography van and the option for a complimentary blood pressure check. All proceeds from the event benefit the American Heart Association, Pink Ribbon Girls and the American Diabetes Association.

Vendors, raffle prizes and a fashion show of MTM Cincinnati models and St. Elizabeth Doctors and survivors transformed the Purple People Bridge into a fashionable and philanthropic runway.

“Red, Pink and Blue was another great event by Cincy Chic! Amy Storer-Scalia and her team continue to amaze us with innovative ways to get important messages out to the community. Red, Pink and Blue gives testimony to the fact that raising awareness about women’s health can be fun,” said Lori Fovel of the American Heart Association.

“The American Heart Association is grateful for the support of Cincy Chic and looks forward to a continued partnership. Together, we can fight our nation’s number one killer – heart disease, and have a positive, measurable impact on the lives of Greater Cincinnatians,” Fovel added.

Revenue generators at the event included: raffle sales, online ticket sales, and drink sales. The raffle put many great prizes up for grabs. The $4,100.85 will be split evenly and $1,366.95 will be awarded to each of the three participating charities.

Sponsors of this event included: St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Bridge for a Cause, A Woman’s Touch Plastic Surgery, Star Lanes on the Levee, Locals On Living, Jessie Krieger Farmers Insurance Agency, Pure Romance, Busam Automotive “The dealer closest to your heart,” and DJ Storm Bennet of Killerspots.com.
