Béziers Tourist Office Reveals Details of Feria

The Béziers Mediterranean tourist office has revealed the details of this year's Feria, a highpoint of the tourism year in the town Béziers, south of France.

Béziers, France, August 08, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Béziers' 42nd Feria, which runs this year from Wednesday 11 August until Sunday 15 August, is now one of the biggest and most popular annual events in the South of France. A million visitors, parties in the bars and cafés, and memorable events in the surrounding villages characterise this event, which is centred around the bull games (which don't hurt the bull) in the Arènes (bull ring).

The annual event features wine tasting, floats and musical parades through the cobbled streets, as well as cultural events including orchestral concerts, flamenco dancing, theatre and ballet, comedy shows, children's entertainments and a DJ. A series of sports fixtures runs alongside the Feria, including an important rugby fixture (ASBH Béziers v. Carcassonne) in the Stade de la Méditaerranée on 11 August.

Activities around the Feria include the Feria wines: red wine from the Cers/Portiragnes cellars and rosé from the “Domaine de la Colombette.”

The vintage Feria rosé will have a special feature designed with safety in mind: in all Béziers’ bars and cafés, the bottles will be made of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) rather than glass, as a health and safety precaution and to avoid any accidents, inopportune breakages, etc. However, on the shelves in the shops, the 2010 Feria rosé will be sold in traditional glass bottles.
