Foundation Supports Struggling Ohio School

Dayton, OH, August 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Kids In Need Foundation and the Kinder Morgan Foundation: Providing school supplies to Ohio town devastated by unemployment

All Students at East End Elementary Will Receive School Supplies

The Kids In Need Foundation, a national, non-profit organization dedicated to providing free school supplies to economically disadvantaged school children and under-funded teachers, announced that the Kinder Morgan Foundation funded a $5,000 grant for a School Box program in Wilmington, Ohio. The community is experiencing high unemployment rates following the relocation of multiple large employers. The Foundation will provide basic school supplies, including pencils, paper and glue sticks, to every student at East End Elementary. The boxes will be distributed at the school’s open house for parents and students on August 24, from 5-7 p.m.

“Through the generosity of the Kinder Morgan Foundation, every single student at East End Elementary in Wilmington will feel the pride of having a personal supply box filled with the tools they need on the first day of school,” said Dave Smith, executive director of the Kids In Need Foundation. “Because so many people in this area have been affected by economic issues, families are struggling to make ends meet. This gesture is sure to inspire confidence in these elementary students as they begin a new year.”

“We are dedicated to giving back to the communities that Kinder Morgan serves,” said Maureen Bulkley, manager of the Kinder Morgan Foundation. “Every child should start the first day of school with freshly sharpened pencils and a box filled with the supplies they need to learn. We are honored to support educators and students in Wilmington.”
