Mamas4Mamas Fundraiser to Take Place in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach
Orange Beach, AL, August 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Gulf Shores Orange Beach Tourism will host the Mamas4Mamas Tweetup fundraiser in conjunction with Traveling Mamas, a group of travel writers and founders of the website TravelingMamas.com, on August 20th. The event will help raise money for Share the Beach, an organization dedicated to protecting and assisting sea turtles nesting along the Gulf Coast.
Eleven social media and print travel writers will attend the fundraiser and spend the weekend in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. “We’re so excited to be welcoming the Traveling Mamas and seven other travel writers and bloggers to our beaches. We know this event will raise awareness of the current conditions here and encourage folks to come see us,” said Kim Chapman, Director of Public Relations for Gulf Shores Orange Beach Tourism.
The tweetup will take place at Live Bait at The Wharf in Orange Beach. Tickets cost $5, and proceeds will go to the Share the Beach organization. Attendees will be eligible for door prizes from Gulf Coast donors, including free vacation accommodations. Share the Beach is a volunteer program that assists with the preservation of endangered sea turtles. In addition to locating and protecting nests along beaches and helping hatchlings reach the water, volunteers give talks on and promote public awareness of sea turtles and the coastal ecosystem.
