Improved Bat Boxes Launched by The Nestbox Company

Solihull, United Kingdom, August 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- West midlands based Nestbox Company Ltd have launched the Improved range of UK manufactured, FSC® certified bat boxes designed for UK indigenous species. Both cavity and crevice dwelling species are catered for in Improved boxes that offer enhanced thermal input, ceramic heat sinks, better insulation and more stable internal temperatures.

The Nestbox Company have developed the Improved Bat Box range following 12 years of experience manufacturing and selling bat boxes, as well as taking customer feedback, the latest science, and expert advice into account.

Peter Bubb, Director at the Nestbox Company commented, "The FSC certified Improved bat boxes are manufactured in the UK, with separate boxes for crevice and cavity dwelling species. They provide a better environment for the bats, as they stay warmer longer and have more stable internal temperatures.

"The Improved range includes Double and Treble Crevice Boxes suitable for Pipistrelles and Soprano Pipistrelles. The individual crevices within each box have differing temperature characteristics, enabling the bats to select the crevice they prefer. The larger Improved Roost/Maternity Box has similar features.

"The Cavity Box, designed for Brown Long-Eared and other cavity dwelling bats, features a single large chamber to encourage clustering. The Improved boxes thus cater for the vast majority of the UK’s bat population."

He continued, "The Improved designs also include all the other features you have come to expect from the Nestbox Company; Accurately sized entrances to deter predators and birds; Easy bat access via a “bat ladder” (which now doubles as a convector heater for the box); Easy human access for monitoring (where permitted); Great designs that look as good on the wall of a building as on a tree and are easy, safe and straightforward to put up."

The Improved Bat Boxes, which are available ready to use, are on sale at various outlets and online at http://www.nestbox.co.uk/Bat-Boxes

Notes to Editors
The Nest Box Company is based in Eastcote, Solihull, West Midlands, UK

The business commenced making nest boxes in 1996, and has grown to become one of the largest nest box manufacturers in the UK. We have a long tradition of designing and creating nesting boxes for British birds and mammals.

The Nestbox Company supplies a diversity of clients, large and small. Among our larger customers are The National Trust, the Countryside Council for Wales, Natural England, the Royal Parks, Wildlife Trusts, The Woodland Trust, The Northern Agricultural Environmental Team, The Peoples Trust for Endangered Species and numerous County and District Councils. Our boxes are to be found within gardens, fields, and woodland throughout the UK and much further afield.

Our range of nest boxes have been designed after full consultation with experts in their field including the RSPB, The Barn Owl Trust, ZSL London Zoo, The Bat Conservation Trust and The People's Trust for Endangered Species. In addition to nest boxes, we have introduced feeders for birds and small animals, and insect houses. All have been developed with the needs of the users (i.e. the wildlife) uppermost in our minds, but we have also ensured that, without making any compromises on function, our products look good to their human purchasers, and will enhance the look of any home or garden.

With such a wide range of products, all sensitively designed to benefit wildlife, the Nestbox Company has supplied a growing number of boxes etc to wildlife professionals and their clients for use in habitat mitigation, particularly in building and construction projects.

The Nestbox Company manufactures its products in its own rural workshops, and utilises modern production technology (including cutting many of its panels using computer controlled routers), and traditional finishing by craftsmen.

We welcome enquiries for our products from wildlife organisations and professionals, as well as from the retail trade, estate managers, and bulk quantity buyers.

In 2008, the Nestbox Company was acquired by Enjoy Birds More Limited, another small family business who specialise in camera products for wildlife watching. The Nestbox Company continues as an independent part of the Enjoy Birds More Group.
