Sign Up Deadline Aug. 24 for Frankie’s Bocce Tournament & Italian Festival

Dover, DE, August 23, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The registration deadline for Dover Downs Hotel & Casino’s inaugural Frankie’s Bocce Ball Tournament & Italian Festival is Aug. 25. Teams interested in participating in the Bocce Ball Tournament should call Jeannine Lahey at 302-857-2166.

The bocce ball tournament will be set up in four-person teams to compete in double-elimination rounds. The entry fee is $200 per team and includes a souvenir T-shirt and $20 Dover Downs Hotel & Casino Gift Card for each player. The first 32 teams to register will secure a spot in the tournament, and the guaranteed first place prize is $3,000.

The Tournament and Festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 4 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Rollins Center®. The schedule follows:

Admission is $5 and includes observing the bocce ball competition, entertainment, wine sampling, cooking demonstrations, a food and merchandise marketplace featuring Rocky Mountain Candy Factory, Pampered Chef, Calabria Imports from Philadelphia offering Italian music CDs and movies, imported olive oils, pasta and Italian sweets, and more. VIP ticket for $30 includes festival admission, access to special tournament viewing area and a buffet-style meal featuring Italian specialties and wine.
