Rocky Top Hospitality Wins 2010 Restaurant Neighbor Award

National Restaurant Association Recognizes Local Restaurant Group for Community Service.

Raleigh, NC, August 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Dean Ogan, owner of Rocky Top Hospitality (http://www.rockytophospitality.com), has announced that the restaurant group has won the National Restaurant Association’s Restaurant Neighbor Award, which recognizes outstanding community service programs. Each year, four winners are chosen, including one small business, one large business, one national chain and one Cornerstone Humanitarian. Winners receive $5,000 to support their community project or favorite charity and a trip to Washington, D.C. to be honored at a gala awards luncheon.

Rocky Top Hospitality actively supports nonprofit organizations and charities such as the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, the March of Dimes, the Spinal Cord Society and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Dean Ogan and local staff members participate in the annual “Memories For Marcus” toy drive at the WakeMed Children’s Center for children who have been hospitalized during the holidays. A free meal is offered to anyone at the Hi5 restaurant who donates a toy or money to the cause. Last year, Rocky Top Hospitality collected $7,500 in cash and toys for the pediatric patients. Altogether, the restaurant group supports local charities with donations of around $500 to $1,000 monthly, raising $1 million total to date.

- Rocky Top Hospitality has donated more than $11,000 to the American Heart Association. Money was also raised for the Fisher House, a nonprofit organization that provides free lodging to veterans and military families receiving treatment at military medical centers.
