GNS Automated Shower Timer Helps Curb Excessive Family Showering

GNS has introduced a fully automated shower timer that not only places a time limit on showering, but also cuts the water flow when time has expired.

Denver, CO, August 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- GNS has introduced a shower timer designed to placate the wishes of shower lovers and water conservationists alike. The fully-automated device, called the Shower Manager, provides a full-flow of shower water for a preprogrammed time. Once this time frame has expired, the water flow is cut by two-thirds. This cut in flow leaves enough to finish rinsing, but not enough to encourage continued showering. Once the unit is turned off, a 5-minute reset interval prevents the bather from recapturing a full-flow of water.

The Shower Manager self-installs in minutes to existing showerheads; no electrical connection or special tools are needed. The unit provides for three full-flow settings: 5, 8 or 11 minutes, locked in with a magnet by the head-of-the-household. Sixty-seconds prior to the expiration of the setting, the unit emits an audible tone alerting the bather the flow will change. The unit does not alter the mixture of Hot/Cold water nor does it serve as a shower shut-off. These important safety considerations remain with the main shower control handle.

The target market for the Shower Manager is families, especially those with teens. Interest in the device has grown to schools with dorms, recreational centers, half-way houses and zoological parks (for the handlers, not the animals). A commercial model offers different time settings and reset interval.

The Shower Manager is an exclusive offering of Global Network Solutions and is sold only over the internet at their web outlet, www.ShowerManager.com. It is USA made at a facility in Loveland CO. Over 75% of unit sales are in the USA, however, International interest is growing. In addition to New Zealand, Canada, and Great Britain, many units are shipped to Australia where water shortages are a major problem.

The Shower Manager offers a short pay-back period. A typical family of four can save enough in water / energy charges to pay for the unit in less than 12 months. The company provides a savings calculator to calculate the savings: www.ShowerManager.com/savings

GNS will be setting up distributorships later this year and placing units on retail shelves early next year. The unit is patent protected by two US Patents and a third in application.
