)-- Vendors keen to streamline their distribution channels are now able to benefit from facilitated workshops with channel partners. Organised by industry advocate, ChannelPoint.com.au, the workshops are geared towards cleaning the air on a number of key issues within the channel, with the ultimate intent of realigning goals across the channel.
“The workshops allow both vendors and their channel partners to explore new and more effective ways of working together to achieve common objectives,” said Sales and Marketing Director, Robert Nagy. “Vendors can engage us to help identify roadblocks within the channel and facilitate joint action planning around them,” he added. This is achieved within an atmosphere of mutual respect, understanding and trust.
The workshops are tailored around the specific requirements of vendors, and depend on the size and nature of the channel. A typical workshop will last for two days and is run dynamically with the majority of participants physically present the entire time. “We find that face-to-face is the best approach as it allows for greater opportunities to participate,” said Nagy, and he volunteered that “you’d be surprised at what’s uncovered during a relaxed luncheon or in the queue at the café downstairs.”
Whilst there has been solid interest in the workshops from distributors and resellers, Nagy anticipates the majority of engagements will be initiated by vendors. “We are certainly taking note of what our distributor and reseller client organisations are telling us,” Nagy commented. Whilst not in the habit of confronting vendors with specific concerns, Nagy admitted to “dropping a hint or two” along the way. Perhaps some vendors could do with a little more than gentle persuasion to examine the health of their channel partner relationships! They would certainly be well served by a facilitated session with the ChannelPoint.com.au experts.
