)-- Murray Hicks, athletic performance director at Desert Speed School, has announced a new training program, high-powered strength training, where athletes learn proper lifting techniques as well as the best training exercises for developing superior speed and explosive power. The program focuses on exercises that will produce the best specialized results for the athlete through the use of auxiliary lifts and core lifts including medicine balls, resistance bands, bodyweight exercises, dead lifts, squats, bench press, pull-ups and dips.
“I am excited about all this new program has to offer,” said Hicks. “I hope athletes will learn to lift the right way with proper form, which will in turn help them avoid injury.”
