The March Group, LLC Announces the Acquisition of International Orientation Resources, Inc.

Coral Springs, FL, September 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The March Group, LLC, a leading, private mergers and acquisitions advisory firm specializing in the sale of middle-market businesses announced today that Robert F. Burns acquired the assets of International Orientation Resources, Inc. The March Group represented the seller in the transaction on July 29, 2010.

International Orientation Resources (IOR) was established by Noel Kreicker over 30 years ago to support expatriates as they settled into new environments. Born out of her personal experience with an overseas relocation and a stint in the Peace Corps, Ms. Kreicker saw a significant void in the marketplace and took action. She grew IOR into a global entity that provides solutions to improve relocated employee performance across cultures through training, coaching and consulting. Some of IOR’s clients include Ford, GM, Abbot Labs, Volkswagen and Monsanto.

“I have been preparing the sale of my business since four years ago, when I hired a senior VP to take over the daily operations of the company,” Ms. Kreicker shared. “I turned 65 this year, and I had wanted to retire at this age. The timing is perfect.”

Ms. Kreicker had previously attempted to sell the business to direct buyers, but no deal prospered. She then received an invitation to a workshop held by The March Group in her area, and by May 2009, International Orientation Resources, Inc. was a March Group client. The company was listed on the market in November that same year.

There were several buyers who looked at IOR, but ultimately it was lead investor and entrepreneur Robert Burns who actively pursued the company.

As Robert Burns said, “International Orientation Resources is a unique business that combines a long and highly successful history with exceptional opportunities going forward.” He also mentioned that as companies of various sizes become increasingly global in scope, “… the demand for IOR’s value-added services will continue to grow and capture a growing share of this market by providing clients with innovative services and solutions.”

March Group Managing Director Steve Dinehart agrees: “Mr. Burns was looking for a company with a strong position in the market — a niche market. He thought that IOR had a strong management team and was operationally sufficient. He saw that he could significantly improve its growth in the coming years — and the price was within the range he was looking for.”

Robert Burns has worked in investment banking for 14 years. He was a managing director with various firms in New York and Chicago, including Jefferies, Bank of America and JP Morgan. He has executed more than 30 mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and he has led over 35 capital markets transactions, including debt, equity and equity-linked financings. His clients included privately held businesses, global Fortune 500 companies and financial sponsors.

Mr. Burns will serve as IOR’s chief executive officer and will work with Ms. Kendra Mirasol, the company’s executive vice president and chief operating officer. Ms. Mirasol will continue to oversee the company’s operations and department leaders.

Ms. Kreicker will stay on as a consultant for an ongoing project, but she is looking forward to fully retiring from the business and spending more time with her family.

International Orientation Resources is engaged in assisting employees and their families during their international assignments. The company has evolved into an international performance consulting business that works with companies that have global presence. IOR’s network includes 250-plus intercultural trainers and more than 1,000 resource staff members around the world.
