Montgomery Alliance Schedules 2011 Giving Campaign Kickoff Event

Rockville, MD, September 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Montgomery Alliance for Community Giving, www.montgomeryalliance.org will kick off its 2011 Giving Campaign at a special breakfast on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010.

The organizations, agencies and companies participating in Montgomery Alliance’s pledge campaign and supporting the organization will be showcased at the breakfast. The event is scheduled for 8:15 a.m., Sept. 28 at VisArts Center, 155 Gibbs St., Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20850. VisArts Center is located in the Rockville Town Center.

Representatives from the agencies that received grants this summer from Montgomery Alliance’s general fund also will be featured. They include Interfaith Works, Housing Opportunities Community Partners, Inc., Gaithersburg HELP, Inc., Top Banana Home-Delivered Groceries and The Dwelling Place, Inc.

“Despite the lean financial times, we anticipate that the 2011 pledge campaign will be our most successful,” says Harriet Guttenberg, Montgomery Alliance President. “Our 2010 pledge campaign raised close to $200,000, and this year we hope to increase the number of employees who participate and the amount of their donations. The need is great, and Montgomery County residents always respond to a challenge to help their neighbors.”

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, Montgomery Alliance is an all-volunteer non-profit that supports local health and human service agencies. Its funds are generated by its annual pledge campaign in local companies, agencies and city and county governments. Montgomery Alliance has the lowest operating rate of County agencies at 5 percent, which means of every $1 contributed, 95-cents are distributed directly to the charities.
