Chattanooga's First Healthy Living Expo - October 1 & 2, 2010

Chattanooga, TN, September 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Chattanooga's first ever Healthy Living Expo will be held October 1 & 2, 2010 at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

The Healthy Living Expo is the region's largest event focused on health, fitness, nutrition and green living with over 100 companies and organizations onsite offering information and resources. Visitors will have the chance to meet contestants from NBC’s "The Biggest Loser," Koli Palu, $100,000 winner and Pink Team, Ashley and Sherry Johnston.

Dr. Adam Shafran and Lee Kanter, from “Dr. Fitness and the Fat Guy” produced in Atlanta and podcast worldwide, will answer questions on Friday and Lauren Monahan will share her inspiring story. She became Mrs. Tennessee after turning 50 and losing more than 120 pounds.

More than 19 demonstrations are scheduled for the Eat Healthy Stage and healthy food samples will be offered by Bi-Lo and other local food companies. The Get Active Stage will present fun ways to increase activity levels like dance, Pilates and Zumba. A mini-gym area will be on the show floor with personal trainers from The Rush Fitness Complex offering free fitness assessments and instruction on using equipment. Also scheduled for the expo are a "Minute to Win It Pepsi Challenge," bingo, wii games, and walks on the track with the chance to win prizes.

With free health screenings, information on health, nutrition, fitness and living green, visitors will find new and fun ways to enhance their lifestyles. Show hours are Friday, 9 am to 3 pm & Saturday, 9 am to 5 pm. Admission is $8 at the door with free admission for visitors over age 55 on Friday and children 12 and under both days.
