Attorney Mullins Begins Term as Durham County Bar Association President

Durham, NC, September 24, 2010 --( Philip A. Mullins, IV, begins his term as the President of the Durham Bar Association with an eye toward service. “If there is any one thing I hope to accomplish, it would be to create unity,” Mullins told his colleagues in a communication to the Bar Association membership. “We need unity of purpose to serve the community (your clients) with honor and zeal.”

About Philip A. Mullins, IV:
Thomas, Ferguson and Mullins recruited him in 2001 for his extensive litigation experience, knowledge of how their opponents approach cases, and his reputation for winning cases because of his skill, expertise and hard work. He joined the firm as a partner in July 2002.

Mullins is a 1988 graduate of Wheaton College, and earned his J.D. in 1993 at Campbell University. At Campbell he was selected to represent the school on the International Moot Court team, was a published member of the Campbell Law Review and received the Thomas Anderson Scholarship. Also during law school he held the position of law clerk to the North Carolina OSHA Review Board.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is close to Mullins’ heart. He has spoken frequently at events and fundraisers for JDRF throughout Eastern North Carolina, successfully raising significant money to find the cure for Type 1 diabetes. His two sons both have juvenile onset diabetes (Type 1 diabetes).
