Blu-Ray is the lastest high capacity optical disc format. Backed by Sony, Apple and Universal Blu-Raydisc technology offers the potential to revolutionize data storage and entertainment. Blu-Ray discs are capable of storing up to 50Gb of data on a dual layer disc.

“Because of CD-writer.com Ltd’s unique insight into digital media and our active approach to online publishing we felt it was the right time to launch the Blu-Ray-Technology website. Although its still early days we expect the site to become a valuable edition to the web, offering visitors up to date information on all the latest developments in Blu-Ray technology. It is my belief that the Blu-Ray disc will be common place in the market within 12 months, and will likely be the standard platform for the release of rich media applications with 2 years ” according to Nic Ranshaw, Sales Manager of CD-writer.com Ltd.

“Certainly the destiny of Blu-RayDisc (BD) is not so straight forward. With strong competition from HD DVD there will likely be a fierce, but hopefully short battle for market dominance. I have been actively involved in the research and development of disc based interactive media products since the late 1980’s. I am pleased that we are now close to a being able to offer the public a fully commercialised product that is more Blu Disc than ‘Blu Sky’. ” says Ranshaw.
