Tech Collective Launches Tech10 Awards

Awards will honor Rhode Island’s top 10 IT practitioners and entrepreneurs in its inaugural year; now accepting nominations, applications, and sponsors.

Providence, RI, October 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Tech Collective, Rhode Island’s industry association for Information Technology and Bioscience, today announces the launch of the 2010 Tech10 Awards. GoLocalProv.com, the “go to” local Web experience breaking the biggest local stories will serve as a primary media sponsor of the program.

In its inaugural year, the Tech10 awards will honor 10 Rhode Island IT practitioners and entrepreneurs who excel in their practice, demonstrate a passion for helping others succeed in business, and are pioneering in their technological and career achievements. Nominations and applications for the awards are now being accepted, and can be found at www.tech-collective.org.

“These are the IT-doers, innovators, and behind-the-scenes achievers who are connecting people and empowering business for 21st century success,” said Kathie Shields, Executive Director of Tech Collective.

The Rhode Island business and IT communities are encouraged to nominate their exceptional IT practitioners and entrepreneurs, including employees, colleagues, clients, and partners. Entrepreneurs with innovative cutting-edge technology-based products or services and IT engineers, developers, support specialists and architects across all industries and specializations are eligible for the Tech10 Awards.

“Tech10 is the first awards program of its kind in Rhode Island honoring the individual IT practitioners who are an integral aspect of IT operations and achievements day in and day out,” said Shields. “To incorporate technology entrepreneurs in the program as well is critical, as the ingenuity and talents of both practitioner and pioneer are intertwined – and the most successful IT professionals are both.”

“As a leading edge company working to redefine media, the opportunity to collaborate with Tech Collective in recognizing Rhode Island’s most talented technologist is an honor,” said Josh Fenton, Co-Founder of GoLocalProv.com. “A vital component of our state’s future economy is the growth of technology – the Tech10 awards will recognize the innovative and leading talents driving that growth.”

Tech10 honorees will be showcased through media coverage in GoLocalProv.com and at an awards celebration to be held on January 26th, 2010 at the Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art’s Chace Center in Providence. Three Tech10 recipients will additionally be honored with special recognitions announced at the event.
