Canadian Service A Poem A Day Goes to YouTube

YouTube says broadcast yourself; Canadian Poet Jean Mercier gives it a shot... a very thoughtful one. Channel: apoemaday (no space) on YouTube

Montreal, Canada, January 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The little peaceful rhymes of Canadian Poet Jean Mercier can now be seen as short visual vignettes on YouTube. Started in 2003 to help a troubled friend, A Poem A Day now daily reaches a growing list of fans, and YouTube might help it even more: a corporate client recently contacted the poet saying he would like to send his humble attempt at making the world a better place to all of his staff, or well over 20,000 people. Not bad for a self-promotion effort. Also an accomplished filmmaker, Mercier sees this as a wonderful way to reach a new audience, with much humility, one poem at a time.

He wrote over 93 books of poetry so far, which are now starting to be published as a series called Imagine Society. The first one is on Amazon.com Imagine Society: A Poem A Day (ISBN 0-09737079-0-9) Another 3 of these are planned to go to print shortly.

"May poetry find its way to us forever now, wherever we are, since without its magic, we are truly not much of anything," says Mercier.

Check it out. Simple, but nice and warm, it is a little 15 seconds worth the stop. You might very well decide to take the time everyday from now on. Channel: apoemaday (no spacebar) on YouTube.
