Candlewood Suites Dallas/Plano Raises Money for Habitat for Humanity
Plano, TX, October 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Candlewood Suites Plano, an InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) brand hotel, initiated an early morning bake sale to help raise funds towards building another house for Habitat for Humanity. From the wee hours of 7am to 9am, the hotel operations staff along with the hotel’s sales department served up an assortment of fresh baked goods along with juice and coffee for hotel guests and clients alike, all for a small donation.
“In 2006, to celebrate their tenth anniversary, Candlewood Suites pledged to build ten houses for people in need around the world. So far, they’ve built four new homes in India and four in Mexico and the USA,” said Bobby Sparks, Director of Sales & Marketing for the hotel. “The latest house, in Atlanta, Georgia has just been completed with the help of nearly 150 colleagues from the Atlanta area. It will provide a comfortable new home for a deserving family,” said Sparks.
"The house in Atlanta, GA will be dedicated in memorandum of Ronald Cook, one of our Candlewood Suites hotel owners and a great supporter of Habitat for Humanity," said Suzanne Nickel, Regional Operations Manager. "It is such an amazing experience to help build a house for a deserving family and to do it alongside my fellow colleagues."
