New York, NY, October 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- AllMediaNY.com is an online news source featuring the latest in film, music, and sports, while also providing excellent coverage on issues from food recipes to dating and socializing in New York City.

The company’s latest campaign falls outside of the purely journalistic and instead focuses on a scholarship competition aimed at high school students around the country, but particularly in the New York area. The competition will feature two rounds, with winners from the first round receiving gift cards of $100 and with the second round winner taking home the $1,000 merit-based scholarship for college.

The scholarship competition will center around essays written to answer one question: “In 1,000 words or less, what book, song lyrics, film, or quote best describes you or most inspires you, and why?”

Entries will be evaluated by five judges, including Jorge Vargas, AllMediaNY.com’s Editor-in-Chief, on parameters of style, content, and grammar. Judging of the entries will also feature a component composed of votes by readers.

The competition will start on October 15, 2010 and the final date for first round submissions is November 15, 2010. Submissions may be made either electronically through the AllMediaNY.com website or by mail at the address below.
