Every Dog Has Its Day at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf; Austin Cafe Supports Blue Dog Rescue for the Month of November

Austin, TX, October 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- It’s back by popular demand. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s locally owned franchise, Lone Star Bean, today announced that it would again support one of Austin’s favorite four-legged charities, Blue Dog Rescue, which finds foster and permanent homes for dogs. Guests at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf can show their support through the purchase of a wristband promoting Blue Dog Rescue.

Here’s how it works:
1. Donate – Pick up a wristband for a minimum $1 donation between October 29 and November 10th.
2. Create Awareness – Wear the wrist band, tie it to your bag or buy a couple and give them to your friends. Every time someone sees it, you can help spread the word about Blue Dog Rescue.
3. Get Rewarded – As a thank you from CBTL, you will receive 10% off all prepared beverages during the entire month of November when you return wearing the wristband.

“We’re so glad to have the opportunity to support Blue Dog Rescue again. Last year, our guests’ response to the promotion clearly showed how much this cause means to them. We know that our guests will be very generous in their donations to this worthy cause and will reap the rewards of knowing they’re making a difference,” said Bill Duffy, COO of Lone Star Bean.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will also host two foster/adopt events at its dog-friendly locations. Guests are encouraged to stop by and visit to learn more about the program and how they can get involved. The two events will be held:

· Sunday, October 30, 10a.m.-12p.m. – 221 S. Lamar Blvd.
· Saturday, November 7, 10a.m.-12p.m. – 38th & N. Lamar

“The generosity of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and its guests is amazing. Last year, we were very pleased with the results of the campaign and we value greatly our partnership with CBTL. We are grateful for the monetary donations raised through this campaign, but even more importantly, we appreciate the awareness that spreads when CBTL guests pass along the information to their friends and family. That is really what helps to sustain our organization and helps us to locate adoptive and foster families for these animals,” said Amy Waggoner, a board member of Blue Dog Rescue.

The wristband promotion is an ongoing initiative of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, which partners with various local non-profits, such as HeartGift, Blue Dog Rescue, Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM) and Helping Hand Home for Children. It is part of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s local philosophy of serving the community in and around each of its locations.

About Blue Dog Rescue
Blue Dog Rescue is a volunteer organization whose purpose is to end the needless killing of homeless dogs. In 2006, Austin killed over 12,000 dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens at one area animal shelter alone. Many of them were healthy, well-behaved animals who could have made someone a wonderful pet. They were killed because there wasn't enough room to keep them until homes could be found for them. Blue Dog Rescue fosters many dogs that at risk for euthanasia. Blue Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, funded by donations, fundraisers, and adoption fees, that works to find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in the Central Texas area.
