Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southwest Florida receives donation and ongoing support from Home-Tech

Fort Myers, FL, October 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Ronald McDonald House Charities was the benefactor of Home-Tech’s Charity of the Month program. Home-Tech donated $700 in the names of customers who purchased air conditioning units during the month of September.

Home-Tech is a long-time supporter of the Ronald McDonald House and this is the second time the charity has been Home-Tech’s “Charity of the Month.” Home-Tech also maintains the appliances and air conditioning units by donating an annual service agreement to the house. As a repeat sponsor of the Ronald McDonald House Storybook Ball, Home-Tech has supported the Ronald McDonald House with more than $40,000 in the past few years.

“The Charity of the month program is a wonderful way to get people involved in giving, and we extend our thanks not just to Home-Tech, but its customers for this donation as well,” said Laura Ragain, executive director of the Ronald McDonald House.

The Ronald McDonald House serves as a “home-away-from-home” for families with children receiving treatment at The Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida. With up to 6 families staying at the house at one time with constant turnover, the wear and tear on the kitchen and laundry appliances is extreme.

“This is a very busy place,” Ragain added, “and we certainly depend on our appliances and air conditioning units to remain in working order at all times. We have Home-Tech to thank for that and so much more!”
