Garden City, NY, October 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Adelphi University Institute for Parenting’s two successful Parent Support Groups, “Hey Babies!” and “Hey Toddlers!,” are being offered once again. “Hey Babies!” is a program for first-time parents with infants between the ages of newborn and eight months, or who haven’t yet started to walk, and “Hey Toddlers!” is a program for parents with toddlers who are starting to walk through 18 months.

These programs focus on normal developmental milestones that may be challenging such as sleeping, eating, disciplining or developing language in a supportive fun, friendly environment. Participants will learn new songs and games that enhance childhood development, while meeting other parents, babies, and toddlers. Parents will learn about key milestones, secure attachments, and reflective parenting, and will strengthen their ability to tune into their child’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Parents will also develop essential skills for building secure parent-child bonds and raising happy children while learning more about their child’s communications so that they can respond more effectively. Moms or dads and kids come as strangers and leave as friends.

The fee for each eight-week session is $140. The baby program meets on Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., and the toddler program meets on Thursdays or Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For more information, specific start dates, times, location, or to register online, please e-mail theinstituteforparenting@adelphi.edu or call (516) 877-3060.
