Orlando Delbert Photographs Rosie's Day with Habitat for Humanity

Orlando Delbert, Founder and Creative Director for Delbert Entertainment, LLC today announced, the delivery of photography of Rosie's Day with Habitat for Humanity.

San Luis Obispo, CA, November 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- "I was asked by long-time friend and colleague, Julia Garza, to help capture Habitat for Humanity's Rosie's Day in San Luis Obispo," said Orlando Delbert. "I jumped on the chance to work with her, and fellow long-time friend, Sharon Moore, Owner of Rosie's Workwear, LLC. Julia and I have worked on many projects together over the years, and thought this would be another fun opportunity. As a fan of the wonderful work Habitat for Humanity has been doing for years, I thought it would be great to be part of something truly special."

Rosie’s Workwear were one of the sponsors for the day, which supplied overalls to all of the volunteers. CK Builders, Inc. was the construction contractor. Sharon Moore, Julia Garza, and Orlando Delbert executive produced the capturing of the day’s events. Orlando Delbert was the Director of Photography.

“I felt welcome among all of the wonderful volunteers on site,” said Orlando Delbert. “The contractors from CK Builders were knowledgeable, professional, and kept safety awareness high. This program brings together women from all walks of life to actively address the problem of children in poverty. I am grateful for being able to capture it.”

Habitat for Humanity for San Luis Obispo County is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian ministry that seeks to eliminate generational poverty in our county and to make substandard housing and homelessness socially, politically, and morally unacceptable. Last week, framing was being constructed and erected, as part of two new homes that will be called home to two families.

Rosie's Workwear embraces the can do attitude of today's woman. During World War II, six million women went to work in manufacturing plants taking the place of the men who went overseas to fight. These women were memorialized by Rose Hill Monroe, a riveter who was featured in a poster campaign wearing coveralls and became the subject of the 1943 song "Rosie the Riveter." Rosie came to symbolize women's newfound strength and the slogan "we can do it" was born.
