Toronto, ON, Canada, November 03, 2010 --(PR.com
)-- Movember, the month formerly known as November, has successfully achieved focus and participation on a global level and Firmex has created their first official team, Team Firmex, for the cause. Firmex employees will show their support both as Mo Bros and Mo Sistas.
Participants on Team Firmex will not only raise funds for Prostate Cancer research but invaluable awareness of the most common cancer affecting men - during his lifetime, one in six men will be diagnosed with the disease.
Each Movember, men are challenged to start the month clean-shaven and grow a moustache. The moustache becomes the hairy ribbon for men's health and the guys growing them become a walking billboard for 30 days. The growth of a new moustache sparks hundreds of conversations about the seemingly taboo topics of men's health and prostate cancer.
“Team Firmex is excited to participate in such a fun initiative for a very important cause,” says Joel Lessem, Firmex CEO. “Unfortunately Prostate Cancer has hit close to home for a few employees and their families, so although we are doing this as a team, there is a personal investment in it as well.”
Team Firmex will be regularly reporting progress on their moustache growing and donations on the Firmex Facebook site and through tweets.
