Potter Barry Weiss of Hummingbird Pottery Joins Wisconsinmade.com

Wisconsinmade.com, an e-commerce gourmet food and gift store, is excited to welcome artist/potter Barry Weiss, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin into its growing family of Wisconsin artisans.

Madison, WI, November 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Wisconsinmade.com carefully selects only the finest-quality products made in Wisconsin and offers them for sale on the Internet. "Barry epitomizes the true artist," said Linda Remeschatis, owner of Wisconsinmade.com, "His mastery of the technical details of his art enables him to transpose his most imaginative designs into clay. Barry infuses a spiritual thoughtfulness into every piece of stoneware he creates. He is truly one of the finest artisans in Wisconsin. And we are so very fortunate to offer his work on Wisconsinmade.com."

About Barry Weiss: Weiss explains that "making pottery fulfills the very essence of my inquiring mind. It requires right and left-brain thinking, a challenge to my creative and artful side, a sobering inquiry into the chemistry of clay, glazes and color, a discipline for attentive detail, patience developed through Zen like repetition and practice, mindfulness, a child’s love of fun and the satisfaction of success through my own efforts." Pottery engages every aspect of Weiss's being and through it he communicates his passion for life and art. He works in both porcelain and stoneware with a comprehensive array of different glazes and colors. He builds texture, character and beauty into every piece. What is so surprising is that Weiss began his professional career in pottery as recently as 2001. By 2010 he had been awarded numerous Best of Show awards at Wisconsin artist festivals. Weiss now teaches pottery in his Eau Claire, WI studio. In joining the Wisconsinmade.com artisan group, Weiss's art now travels beyond Wisconsin's borders.
