)-- MCCOY, the Marion County Commission on Youth, announced today that it has chosen MillerPierce as its strategic marketing and public relations partner.
MillerPierce will work in conjunction with MCCOY’s internal team to develop the MCCOY brand and specifically bring awareness to the “I Care” Initiative, a partnership between MCCOY, Emmis Communications and State Farm Insurance to increase Marion County’s high school graduation rates.
The “I Care” Initiative aims to address the staggering drop-out rate in Marion County. The goal of the public awareness campaign is to connect community members and businesses with opportunities to become involved in the drop-out prevention effort, through mentoring, donating and advocating on behalf of youth and students. In Marion County, only 73.8 percent of students graduate from high school, giving it the second highest drop-out rate in the country.
“We chose MillerPierce because of the agency’s experience in helping Indianapolis children’s-related organizations meet their goals,” said Stephanie Freeman, communications director for MCCOY. “Their strategic partnership and understanding of our community’s most vital needs will be instrumental in collaborating to help students succeed in school and in life.”
