The NCCWPS Partners with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Women’s Summit for Women on Board Workshop


Nonprofit Prepares Women for Elected and Appointed Offices Nov. 6

Raleigh, NC, November 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Dana Jennings, CEO of The NC Center for Women in Public Service (NCCWPS), a nonpartisan organization that prepares women to seek and serve in elected and appointed offices statewide, has announced that the organization will host a Women on Board workshop in November for women interested in appointments to boards and commissions at the municipal, county and statewide levels.

The workshop is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the UNC-Charlotte Campus Bonnie E. Cone Center, located at 9201 University City Blvd. in Charlotte. For this workshop, NCCWPS has partnered with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Women’s Summit, a data driven, community-based volunteer organization that serves as a catalyst to improve the lives of women and girls, and thereby the whole community, in Charlotte Mecklenburg through raising awareness, education, engaging the community, collaborating with other organizations and serving as a key informational resource. Established in April 2009, Women on Board is a program of the North Carolina Center for Women in Public Service.
