Norwood, MA, November 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Advanced Thermal Solutions, Inc., ATS, (http://www.qats.com) is presenting a free webinar “Basics and Options in Thermal Modeling and Analysis of Electronic Systems” on Thursday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m. EST. This webinar explains the three modeling options: analytical, computational and experimental, and shows the benefits and shortfalls when applying each method to real product development.

Modeling and simulations form the cornerstone of any successful product launch of electronics products. Engineers are faced with three modeling options, analytical, computational and experimental. In this webinar, these modeling options are reviewed and their application to a problem domain is discussed.

When designing thermal solutions for electronic systems, a typical goal is to keep the junction temperature of a given component below a specified value, whether through local chip-level cooling or by optimizing the thermal management of a PCB or enclosure. Integral modeling is an important tool in the analysis stage of these designs because it can provide a first-order estimate of the problem. Modeling results can be compared with the data obtained from experimentation, and used to develop boundary conditions for higher order solutions. To gain an understanding of this process, a simple integral model can be developed using a choice of methods. This webinar will provide insight into which method(s) to use and best practices for better, more useful results.
