Glamour Gone Good, Inc. Launches Virtual Shop to Encourage Charitable Giving During Holiday Shopping Season

You shop. They donate. Fashion, Beauty & Charity collide to the holiday shopper's delight.

New York, NY, November 12, 2010 --( With the holidays around the corner, Americans have two things on their minds: What to get their loved ones for the holidays and how to give back to their communities during the season of giving.

For those of you who love fashion and beauty, the answer to both is one and the same. Purchase products from the Glamour Gone Good Shop and a minimum of ten percent of proceeds from your entire purchase will empower disadvantaged women and girls in the United States to reach their fullest potential.

Glamour Gone Good, a nonprofit organization that engages glamour industry professionals in charitable activities to raise funds for women and girls in need, today announced the launch of the Glamour Gone Good Shop, which offers a wide variety of products for women and girls, ranging from jewelry and handbags to all-natural skin care products. The funds raised from the shop will benefit three national women’s and girls’ charities: Dress for Success Worldwide, Girls Educational and Mentoring Services (GEMS), and Sister to Sister: The Women’s Heart Health Foundation.

“Companies have begun to realize that consumers are interested in far more than discounts and free gifts. Developing charity-driven sales promotions is a win-win business strategy because brands win over the hearts of their consumers, boost product sales, and give back to charity all in one shot. It doesn’t really get better than this,” commented Shikha Vasaiwala, founder and CEO of Glamour Gone Good, Inc.

According to Edelman’s 2010 GoodPurpose study, 71% of consumers believe brands and consumers can do more to support good causes by working together. Moreover, 64% of consumers feel its not enough for corporations to simply give away money to a good cause and prefer that they find ways to integrate causes into their everyday business.
