About Women in the Profession Committee:
Women in the Profession Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association was created in 1992 to assist women in the profession and to work toward a gender-neutral legal society in North Carolina. Today, the Women in the Profession Committee serves as a resource for the NCBA by, among other things, identifying ways to encourage and maintain the active participation and advancement of women in the NCBA and the legal profession. This is achieved, in part through educational programs, awareness initiatives, and networking events, which highlight the accomplishments of women attorneys.

The Women in the Profession Committee is currently comprised of approximately forty-five members who function through a structure of subcommittees. Committee members also serve as liaisons to other NCBA committees in order to promote and accomplish its goals.
