Bridge Metrics to Support the GAVI Alliance

Frisco, TX, November 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Bridge Metrics announced today that as an Integral Sponsor of the Microsoft Alumni Foundation 2010 Celebration, they have chosen to support the GAVI Alliance as its primary charity.

The GAVI Alliance is a unique public-private partnership that develops and supports innovative ways to increase immunization in developing countries. The Alliance brings together developing country and donor governments, the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the World Bank, the vaccine industry in both industrialized and developing countries, research and technical agencies, civil society, private philanthropists, and influential individuals. Working together, members of the GAVI Alliance are able to achieve goals no single organization could realize on its own.

“The GAVI Alliance is saving children’s lives and protecting people’s health through its revolutionary integrated approach,” said Grant Wynn, CEO of Bridge Metrics. “The unique way GAVI programs work is by engaging eligible countries to actively participate, and that structure strengthens the sustainability of long-term immunization programs. The Alliance also works to ensure stable funding and supply of immunizations. Bridge Metrics is proud to lend our support.”

Since its launch in 2000, GAVI has funded the immunization of more than 250 million children. As a result, the World Health Organization (WHO) department of Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals estimates that 5.4 million lives have been saved.

The Microsoft Alumni Foundation 2010 Celebration honors nominees of the Integral Fellows Awards Program. The awards program is a cornerstone of the Foundation and recognizes Microsoft alumni who have dedicated their lives to creating something extraordinary to help address challenges around the world. Winners will be announced Thursday, November 18.
