Prosser, WA, January 24, 2007 --(PR.com
)-- Chukar Cherries, Washington State’s year round cherry company, has recently donated $1,186.00 to Breast Cancer Research. The funds went to a notable Breast Cancer Foundation that focuses on grants and programs related to breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.
The donation is part of Chukar’s Blossoms for a Cure™ campaign which raises funds for the cause through sales of the signature Chocolate Cherry Blossoms; a combination of dried Montmorency Tart Cherries covered in milk chocolate and finished with a layer of French-style white chocolate. The confection is a rosy pink color, the signature color for Breast Cancer Awareness.
The Blossoms for a Cure™ campaign was launched in October 2006 during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. One dollar was donated for each 8 oz. bag sold from October through December 2006 and will continue to be donated to the cause in 2007. One 8 oz. bag is $8.95 and is available online at www.chukar.com, by calling 1.800.624.9544, or by visiting a Chukar Cherries retail store.
The Blossoms for a Cure™ campaign has been a delightful success for the Chukar Team and loyal Chukar customers. “The choice to support Breast Cancer is a personal one. We wanted to give our customer’s the chance to contribute to an issue that affects our sisters, mothers, girlfriends and coworkers,” said Pam Montgomery, owner and founder of Chukar Cherry Company.
