Producer, actor and award-winning screenwriter Ramon Govea has been tackling Hollywood from the ground up since he arrived in Los Angeles, CA in 2007. Since then, the passionate filmmaker has written eight shorts, three features and is currently a producer on a new television series called “Ancient Tomorrow,” which is slated to hit the airwaves in 2011. Govea is the writer and producer of Ancient Tomorrow,” an epic docudrama adventure series. The show will take viewers on a global journey, with eight young scientists, in search of an ancient power technology that could save the future of the world. Ramon’s first film as executive producer is now in pre-production. He wrote “1:00 AM” and will be starring in it, along with an ensemble cast of four. “1:00 AM” is a love-revenge thriller scheduled for production in mid-December, 2010. Under the banner of Black Mast Studios, the film will be shot using a RED camera. Internationally renowned producer and actor Domiziano Arcangeli, who has made over 100 films and has been acting since he was a child in Italy, serves as the co-producer of “1:00 AM.”. Director of photography Sam Rosenthal recently won Best Cinematography for his film “Under the Gun” at the recent 48 Hour Film Fest. “1:00 AM” director J. Gira’s latest feature film “OJ: Monster or Myth,” a documentary about the OJ Simpson murder trial, was recently released to DVD. 10% of the funds raised for “1:00 AM” will be donated towards suicide prevention. Govea has forged a successful career in the entertainment industry for the last two years, after carefully planning and preparing for that success the year before. He stated, “I knew that I wanted to make movies, so I dedicated myself to reading numerous books, and taught myself everything I could about acting, writing and film production. The hands-on acting, writing and production experience that I have received during the last two years has been invaluable, and has been the best teacher of all.” Successfully forging ahead and confident in his ability to produce television series and features from the ground up, Govea recently founded Black Mast Studios, a production company with development interests in multiple mediums, including graphic novels and video games.
