Canada Working Holiday Available to British TravelWorks Participants

Visa to be provided to UK citizens through High Commission of Canada for first time.

Muenster, Germany, December 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- European-based tour operator TravelWorks will offer young British travellers comprehensive working holiday support in Canada beginning in January 2011, due to recent changes to the Canadian government’s working holiday visa policy with the United Kingdom.

British citizens will soon have the chance to apply for the Working Holiday Visa through the High Commission of Canada instead of through a third-party organisation, which until recently was in charge of processing all Working Holiday Visa applications from the UK. This makes it possible for TravelWorks to offer its working holiday support services to British participants.

“We are very excited to have the chance to offer the same services to British participants in Canada which we have been offering to participants from other European countries for years,” said Marissa Jansen, programme coordinator for Canada with TravelWorks.

TravelWorks’ working holiday package aims to help participants get the best out of an up-to-12-month working holiday in Canada. Upon arrival in Vancouver, Montréal, or Toronto, participants are picked up at the airport and taken to their hostel, where they spend the first two nights. The day after arrival in Canada, participants take part in a job workshop, receiving detailed job-searching information to help them find work more easily whilst abroad. Practical assistance writing a CV, taking out a bank account, and applying for a social insurance number are also provided.

British participants in TravelWorks’ working holiday in Canada programme will also have access to services which have not been available to them as part of a working holiday package.

“Some very useful services, such as membership in WWOOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) and Hostelling International Canada, as well as 12 months of mail-forwarding within Canada have not been available as part of a comprehensive working holiday package for UK working holidaymakers in the past,” said Jansen. “These are services which we are proud to be able to offer to British TravelWorkers starting in 2011.”
