Christopher J. Zane Elected to Board of Trustees at The Country School in Madison

New Haven, CT, December 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Christopher J. Zane, President of Zane’s Cycles located at
330 East Main Street in Branford, is a newly elected official to the Board of Trustees at The Country School (TCS) in Madison. Mr. Zane is the proud parent of two children who currently attend TCS - Charlie (Grade 7), and Oliver (Grade 5). Mr. Zane’s son, Ian, 10, was the recipient of the prestigious TCS Community Service Award and is in his first year at Hopkins School in New Haven.

Chris Zane has been affiliated with The Country School for well over 10 years. The Zane’s selected TCS for their boys because they believe that an education must last a lifetime. “In today’s hectic and overly organized approach to raising young children, I honestly see the difference in how my boys prioritize what is not only important to them but to the larger world,” says Zane. “The Country School provides a fundamental education that encourages the development of the whole child. It offers unique experiences - such as traveling to the Southwest for 10 days as an 8th Grader- and I am convinced that our investment in their early childhood education will separate them from the rest.”

The School's Board of Trustees is a policy making body that ensures that TCS is successfully fulfilling its mission. This includes responsibility for the School's operating budgets, capital assets, fund raising initiatives, and endowment. Mr. Zane reflects “Being a member of the Board is the utmost volunteer opportunity at TCS. We are celebrating our 55th Anniversary this year and I am honored to be a member of a Team so committed to evolving the School’s future and securing its position in our communities.” Mr. Zane brings his 29 years as a successful business owner and entrepreneur to this position.

Founded in 1955, The Country School’s 23 acre campus at 341 Opening Hill Road in Madison, Connecticut serves 250 students from more than 20 different shoreline communities. At TCS, the traditional academic disciplines are balanced by rich offerings in the Arts, athletics, community service, and outdoor education. The Country School provides an education that lasts a lifetime and prepares graduates to go on to many high schools including Choate, Hopkins, Ethel Walker, Fairfield Prep, Hotchkiss, Pomfret School, Suffield Academy, Westminster, Williams, and more.
