JEFFREY WANG | Director, Head of Shanghai Office
Jeffrey Wang is Director based in Shanghai. From 1995 to 2001, Mr. Wang worked as an Associate in the Investment Banking Division of Salomon Smith Barney, and its predecessor, Schroders PLC, based in Shanghai and Hong Kong. There, he advised multinational companies on a number of acquisitions, JVs and other direct investments in China. The clients he worked for included BTR (Invensys), Associated British Foods, Bass, Danone, Welbilt and Perot. He also worked on IPOs and private placements for local companies. From 1988 to 1995, he worked as correspondent banking officer in the International Division of the Bank of Communications, one of the largest commercial banks in China. Mr. Wang speaks fluent Mandarin and English and was educated at Beijing University (BA, Economics).

JEFF ACTON | Director
Jeff Acton is an Director based in Tokyo. He previously worked for Maple Leaf Foods International in Toronto on Japan-related business. Prior to that, he worked at Sanyo Electric, the Japanese telecoms equipment company in Osaka, Japan, in product strategy & marketing. From 1997-2002, he worked at Pratt & Whitney in Canada in engineering and design. Mr. Acton has an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France, and an MSc/BSc from Queen's University, Kingston, Canada (with a year at Kyoto University). Mr. Acton is fluent in spoken and written Japanese and conversant in French.

MARK WEBSTER | Director
Mark Webster is an Director based in Shanghai. He previously worked for Standard Chartered Bank - Shanghai Branch as a Vice President in the Multi-National Corporates division assisting clients such as BP, Syngenta and UPS with strategic, funding and operational matters. Prior to that, he worked at JPMorgan’s London office (earlier Robert Fleming Investment Bank) as an Associate in their Mergers and Acquisitions department. From 1995 to 1998, he worked for Arthur Andersen in London where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ACA). Mr. Webster graduated from Oxford University with an MA in Modern History and Economics and speaks Mandarin Chinese and French.

SORA AHN | Senior Associate
Sora Ahn is a Senior Associate based in New York. Since joining BDA, Ms. Ahn has worked on buy-side and sell-side M&A projects in North America and Korea, in the semiconductor capital equipment sector, plastic/chemicals, logistics, and flow control. Ms. Ahn is also a member of BDA’s automotive team. Prior to joining BDA, Ms. Ahn was an Analyst at the New York and London offices of The Transportation Group, a boutique investment bank, where she assisted with the placement, arrangement and execution of aircraft and rail lease financings. Before that, Ms. Ahn worked at Korean Air in Seoul, Korea as a Communications Specialist. Ms. Ahn received a BA in International Relations from Wellesley College and a MA in International Trade from Ewha University in Seoul, Korea. Ms. Ahn speaks Korean.

MENG JIANG | Senior Associate
Meng Jiang is a Senior Associate based in Shanghai. Prior to joining BDA, Ms. Jiang was an Analyst at UBS Investment Bank's Global Energy and Power Group, where she worked on origination and execution of M&A and capital raising transactions in New York. Prior to that, she also interned in the US Commercial Service in Shanghai, where she focused on the pharmaceutical and marine industry sectors, and in the Financial Institutions Group at UBS. Ms. Jiang received a BA with a Double Major in Political Science and Economics from Wellesley College. She is fluent in Mandarin and speaks Cantonese and German.

DOUGLAS LUI | Senior Associate
Douglas Lui is a Senior Associate based in Hong Kong. Before joining BDA, Mr. Lui was a Business Analyst in Dah Chong Hong Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of CITIC Pacific. He was responsible for evaluating and executing China automotive M&A opportunities, as well as working on the establishment of manufacturing operations in China. Prior to that, Mr. Lui worked in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services Department of PricewaterhouseCoopers, in which he specialized in the IT, telecommunications, and media sectors. Mr. Lui is a CPA (Hong Kong) and graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (BBA, Accountancy). He is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.

SHAN YUE | Senior Associate
Shan Yue is a Senior Associate based in Hong Kong. Mr. Yue was previously based in BDA's New York office, having been involved with the origination and execution of cross border M&A projects for BDA and MNC clients in US and Asia. Prior to joining BDA, Mr. Yue was a Business Strategy Consultant at China Strategy LLC, providing market entry strategies for US companies entering China and vice versa. While working for Pharmaneer, Mr. Yue set up and streamlined its global logistics operations, and helped US medical equipment manufacturers and distributors to improve supply chain efficiency by sourcing products directly from Asia. Mr. Yue has also worked as a Strategic Planning Associate for Stifel Financial Inc in the US. Mr. Yue graduated from Washington University's Olin Business School with degrees in Finance and Marketing. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.

ZOLA GU | Associate
Zola Gu is an Associate based in Shanghai. Prior to joining BDA, Mr. Gu was an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division of China Euro Securities, Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia (CLSA)’s Chinese joint venture, where he was responsible for industrial analysis, due diligence and financial valuations. He worked on a number of transactions, including M&A advisory work for a leading European logistics company. Mr. Gu also worked for a period in the Equity Capital Markets division of CLSA in Hong Kong. Mr. Gu graduated from the University of Warwick (MSc, Manufacturing) and Peking University (BSc, Mechanics; BEcon, Economics). Mr. Gu is fluent in Mandarin and English.

SUVA DEEP GUPTA | Associate
Suva Deep Gupta is an Associate based in Mumbai. Prior to joining BDA, Mr. Gupta worked as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Bank of America and as a Research Analyst in Evalueserve, a Business Research firm. Mr. Gupta graduated with a bachelors degree in commerce from Calcutta University and has an MBA from ICFAI Business School, India. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Bengali.

STACY SHEN | Associate
Stacy Shen is an Associate based in Shanghai. Prior to joining BDA, Ms. Shen worked in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services Department of PriceWaterhouseCoopers Shanghai, where she worked for Fortune 500 Chinese and multinational companies, including China Life, Bank of China, Sinotrans, 3M, Logitech etc, focusing on asset review, credit review, internal control analysis and financial statement analysis. Ms. Shen graduated from Fudan University with a Bachelor of Law degree. She speaks fluent Mandarin and English.

JASON SONG | Associate
Jason Song is an Associate based in New York. Before joining BDA, Mr. Song worked at the Carbon Disclosure Project in London, where he undertook research on electrical utilities for leading US pension funds. Prior to that, he worked in the office of Phil Willis, MP in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom Parliament. Mr. Song holds a BA in Economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, a Maîtrise in Political Science from the University of Paris and an MSc in Philosophy and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is fluent in English and French.

MELISSA WONG | Associate
Melissa Wong is an Associate based in New York. Before joining BDA, Ms. Wong was a Senior Analyst at Business Intelligence Advisors (BIA). She applied BIA's proprietary methodology on listed Chinese companies and contributed to the development of intelligence-based training modules for Fortune 100 companies, hedge funds, and high net worth individuals investing in China and India. Prior to that, Ms. Wong worked at State Street Bank as a Portfolio Accountant where her clients included public trusts and hedge funds. Ms. Wong has also worked at Arthur Andersen in Hong Kong, and Putnam Investments in London. Ms. Wong received a BSc in Business Management and Economics from Babson College. Ms. Wong is conversant in Cantonese and Mandarin.
