MBEConnect Plans More Growth in 2011

As small businesses across the country grow, so does MBEConnect, an established business social network that matches sourcing entities with minority- and women owned businesses.

Overland Park, KS, December 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Following a year marked with numerous successes, MBEConnect, the business social network for women- and minority-owned business enterprises (W/MBEs), is prepared to begin the new calendar year with more growth and opportunities.

Since launching in August 2009, MBEConnect has added over 2,300 members and continues to grow rapidly. Government and corporate entities are also represented on the site, including the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), Department of Homeland Security and Coca-Cola. There are no fees to join the site for W/MBEs or sourcing entities, and the site will remain free of charge for these groups in the future.

2010, the first full calendar year of operation for MBEConnect, proved to be a successful one. MBEConnect attended and served as a media sponsor for the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) National Conference in Baltimore and the MBDA Minority Enterprise Development Week in Washington, D.C. The newly launched MBEConnect Blog has also increased awareness about the site and caught the attention of the business community. Daily site updates and an ever-growing community have established MBEConnect as a premier destination for women and minority business owners, as well as corporate supplier diversity representatives.

The next year will include several exciting site enhancements and opportunities. An official app for Apple products, called MBEConnect Mobile Edition, will be released in the first quarter of 2011. This program will allow mobile users to browse content from the site such as videos, blog posts and pictures, and learn about new business opportunities. Additional mobile device and digital components will be released later in the year. In March, MBEConnect will serve as a media sponsor for the upcoming WBENC Summit and Salute event in Washington, D.C. MBEConnect plans to expand its collection of over 85 video interviews with sourcing entities and W/MBEs during this and other supplier diversity events.
