First American Equipment Finance Presented with Community Leadership Award

Fairport, NY, December 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- First American Equipment Finance was presented with the Youth Services Quality Council Community Leadership Award at the YSQC’s annual meeting held on December 10, 2010 for its contributions to the Charles Settlement House.

The Community Leadership Award recognizes an organization whose mission is not focused on serving or supporting youth - yet has substantially contributed to the betterment of youth in the community.

Recognition for First American follows a number of charitable efforts made to help youth with the Charles Settlement House. During a recent technology renovation at CSH, First American helped outfit the computer lab with laptops, docking stations, monitors, and a new firewall system. Employees volunteered to help install the equipment, upgrade software, and transfer data from old computers.

First American also hosted a summer youth employment program at their Fairport, NY headquarters to demonstrate the various career options available within the company. Upon completion of the program, each teen was rewarded with a laptop of their own.

The relationship between First American and CSH continues to grow. Recent projects in 2010 include revamped computer cabling to improve internet access and the donation and installation of 17 refurbished desktop computers.

First American remains dedicated to supporting youth in the local community. "As an equipment lessor, First American understands the value of modern technology and the impact it can make on learning, communication and efficiency," said William Verhelle, CEO of First American. "Getting these tools into students’ hands can really make a difference."

The Youth Services Quality Council of Rochester and Monroe County provides a forum for more than 50 youth service providers to collaborate on new ways to do business to ensure coordination of services, maximization of resources, and quality service delivery to youth and families.

The Charles Settlement House is an organization that has served the residents of Northwest Rochester for more than 90 years by providing programs in preschool development, youth development, family services, senior adult services, and neighborhood capacity building.

First American is an experienced lessor specializing in the technology, healthcare, insurance, education and legal industries and is ranked among the 100 largest leasing companies in the U.S. First American has a proven reputation for professionalism and outstanding customer service among large, sophisticated commercial borrowers throughout the U.S.
