Allen & Overy Target Brightest Graduates in Web Recruitment Drive

Dedicated graduate recruitment web site developed by Glass.

London, United Kingdom, February 03, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Allen & Overy, a top five global legal practice, has launched an initiative designed to help it further attract top-flight university graduates to its recruitment programmes.

It involves the launch of a website, www.aograduate.com, targeted specifically at university graduates interested in pursuing a career in law with a successful international legal practice.

The website has been designed and developed by Glass, the digital communications agency, following a competitive pitch against agencies including FramFab, SAS and Soup.

It is targeted primarily at second year law students but it is hoped the site will also entice undergraduates outside of the law discipline to pursue a career with Allen & Overy in preference to other city employers such as merchant banks.

Moving beyond a standard corporate communications platform, the site uses employee blogs to give graduates a credible and open perspective on what it is like to work for Allen & Overy. The blogs cover all levels of staff from graduate trainees through to senior partners.

The site also offers support and advice to students considering a life-changing move to the capital. A feature called London Life provides a young professional's view of accommodation, transport links, shopping, and entertainment in the city.

Meanwhile, a flash quiz has been incorporated into the site to provide students with a bit of fun. Called Legal Eagles, it will psychometrically profile the user via a series of questions to determine what type of 'bird' they most resemble.

Zoe Gordon, Allen & Overy Graduate Recruitment Manager, says, "Joining Allen & Overy means starting your career in the very top tier of international law. With nearly 5,000 people employed in 25 major international centres we are one of the largest and most successful legal practices in the world. "

"With our commitment to global expansion, we are constantly looking at new ways of attracting the brightest talent. This website presents us with a fantastic opportunity to communicate in a very honest and open way the culture and values of our business, while at the same time differentiating us from other legal practices," she adds.

A key requirement of the project was for a site that could be content managed and scaled by staff at a global level. To meet this need Glass used as part of its development tools EPiServer, the leading platform for content management and web publishing based on Microsoft's .NET framework.

The site is due to be rolled out to Allen & Overy operations internationally, in the beginning of 2007.

Ben Hart, Glass co-founder and CEO, says, "Today's media savvy graduates value honesty and impartiality very highly indeed. They don't want to hear the carefully orchestrated corporate message; they want to get a real sense of a company's culture and values. The site we have created for Allen & Overy delivers on these very important issues, helping students to make the right decision about their career choice."
